智利為首個拉美國家與中國簽訂自由貿易協議，港商出口往智利，應利用其低關稅之便，幅射周邊地區如玻利維亞、厄瓜多爾和秘魯等。
香港貿發局經濟師陳永健指出，當地對電子、服裝、玩具、禮品、鐘表等需求龐大，消費模式傾向保守，故環保物料和產品安全認證，可增加強買家的信心。兼營物流公司的智利商會主席Marco Hazan指出，智利可以利用香港的優勢，拓展服務和投資行業。
